 Floating nightcrawlers

Here's a tip I have used to catch quite a few bass from Wise reservoir.

Carolina rig with a panfish sized hook about 15-20" distance between hook and weight. Thread the worm as you would a plastic... through the nose of the worm then turn the hook and bury it into the side of the worm. The hook is basically completly inside the worm. Then use a worm floater bottle (or syringe) to inflate the body of the worm. They usually will straighten out quite a bit and be much fatter.

Cast out and slowly reel the worm a few inches then pause a few seconds then reel a bit more and repeat. The fish usually take it during the pause. NO mistaking the hit. They usually engulf it.

I don't use a swivel on this Carolina rig since the bait is floating above the bottom and able to drift with the water currents easily.

This might be old hat to a few folks but it might help someone.

Have a good one,
RoD
